Marilyn Y. Schlegel (nee: Malizia), 89, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2017, with her loving family by her side.  Marilyn was raised in Nutley, N.J., predeceased by her parents, Yolanda and Ben Malizia, and her brother, Bernie.  Beloved wife of the late Robert G. Schlegel, devoted mother of Jeffrey Schlegel of Reston, VA, Diane Phelan (Brian) of Wayland, MA and Barbara Palladino (Bob) of Florham Park, NJ; beloved grandmother to Christina, Sara, Catherine, Kristin, Elizabeth and Laura; great grandchildren Lily and Ella.  She will be dearly missed by all.  Marilyn graduated from Connecticut College, moved to Allentown, P.A. with Robert, and returned to Bloomfield N.J. with her young family and retired to Roseland, N.J. after many years as an elementary school teacher in the Glen Ridge School System.  She enjoyed playing bridge and spending many wonderful hours with her grandchildren. 

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.  Please check back for information.
